On April 8th, we hosted our monthly Lean Coffee event: an agenda-less but structured meetup where attendees suggested and selected discussion topics.

Attendees suggested topics for discussion, including their current biggest issues, topical subjects and things that were on their minds. Attendees then upvoted three submitted topics and the highest-scoring topics were added to a list for discussion, starting with the most popular.

We welcomed some first time visitors as well as welcoming back some regulars, and we discussed the following topics:

  • How do you feel about the lack of career guidance provided when it comes to Entrepreneurship?
  • Post-lockdown government support / funding
  • What are the 3 things that are top of your list to-do from next week?
  • Have you noticed any change in the growth of social enterprises and small independent business in the most recent months?

Some useful links posted into the chat included:

Other topics were suggested and upvoted, but we didn’t have time to discuss them so we may return to them in future events:

  • What is happening in the Social Enterprise area in Manchester City or GM region that you are aware of and want to share?
  • Opportunities and challenges from easing the lockdown
  • How do you find motivation in these changing circumstances?
  • Anything new on the social enterprise scene?
  • How are you feeling with the opening next week?

If you’d like to discuss some of these topics, or have an issue you’d like to discuss with other social entrepreneurs, please look out for future Lean Coffee events.
